Europa League campaigners West Ham United are the favourites in the £25m race to sign one of the hottest young strikers in European football. Red Bull Salzburg hitman PatsonDaka is one of the best young strikers in Europe as he has scored goals for fun in the colours of his team this season.
West Ham United want to sign a new striker this summer and Daka could be their man. The Hammers are keen to sign a striker to replace French-born Ivorian national team striker Sebastien Haller who left the club to join Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in the January transfer window.
Daka, 22, has 68 goals and 27 assists in 125 games for Salzburg whom he joined from African team Kafue Celtic FC.
The interest of West Ham United in Daka was revealed by African media outlet Zamfoot as it was disclosed that the player could move to West Ham this summer despite the interest from elsewhere. If he moved to West Ham, Daka will play in the Europa League after the club qualified via a sixth-placed finish at the end of the season. The Hammers were the second best London team behind Chelsea as they finished ahead of both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the player but the Hammers are still the frontrunners.
